This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit antiserum, validated for western blot detection of PROCR in cell lysates and for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, with reactivity confirmed against the human target. PROCR (Protein C Receptor), also designated EPCR or CD201, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on vascular endothelial cells that binds activated protein C and contributes to the anticoagulant protein C pathway. Its interaction with the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex on endothelium accelerates protein C activation and downstream cytoprotective signaling through PAR1, while altered PROCR expression has been documented in tumor vasculature and in sepsis-related endothelial dysfunction. Researchers therefore use this reagent to map PROCR distribution in vascular biology, study its role in coagulation and inflammation, and characterize expression in tumor microenvironment models. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots preserves antibody activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles, and the unconjugated format allows flexible secondary labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophores depending on the chosen application.
