Anti-PRMT5 Antibody

This unconjugated Mouse monoclonal antibody targets PRMT5 (Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 5), a type II arginine methyltransferase that catalyzes symmetric dimethylation of histone (H3R2me2s, H4R3me2s) and non-histone substrates. PRMT5 functions in spliceosome assembly through methylation of Sm proteins, contributes to ribosome biogenesis via modification of RPS10, and supports transcriptional repression programs that affect cell cycle progression and germ cell maturation. Elevated PRMT5 activity has been documented in mantle cell lymphoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and melanoma, where it drives altered splicing and proliferative signaling.

Supplied as 100 µL of Mouse IgG2a in TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. The glycerol-rich formulation is suited to frozen storage at -20 °C; aliquot on first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve epitope binding.
