PRMT2 (Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 2) is a type I enzyme that catalyzes the asymmetric dimethylation of arginine residues on target proteins, with well-documented roles in nuclear receptor signaling, transcriptional regulation, and DNA damage response pathways.

The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against human PRMT2 is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG in a vial, validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, and confirmed to cross-react with human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers have used this antibody and similar reagents to study PRMT2-dependent coactivation of estrogen and androgen receptor pathways, to probe its catalytic versus scaffold functions in breast cancer and leukemia cell line models, and to investigate its nuclear and cytoplasmic distribution in fixed tissue sections.

The rabbit host provides broader epitope coverage for detecting multiple isoforms of the methyltransferase, which can be an advantage when working with post-translationally modified targets. For best results, refrigerate upon arrival, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light; avoid sodium azide when planning immunohistochemistry with HRP-conjugated secondary detection.
