Prolactin (PRL) is a 23 kDa polypeptide hormone secreted primarily by the anterior pituitary gland, with established roles in mammary gland development, lactation, reproductive function, and immune cell signaling.

This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and recognizes the native PRL target across human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling cross-species investigation in both clinical and basic research contexts.

Supplied in a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, the antibody is ready to dilute directly into Western blot workflows.

The polyclonal format yields multi-epitope recognition of prolactin, useful when probing truncated isoforms, post-translationally modified forms, or denatured protein preparations in lysate-based detection systems.

Sodium azide is included as a microbial preservative. The product should be protected from light, stored refrigerated for short-term use, and aliquoted for longer-term storage to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Researchers studying pituitary dysfunction, lactotroph biology, or prolactin's extrapituitary roles in immune regulation and angiogenesis will find this reagent suited to detecting endogenous PRL expression levels in cell and tissue lysates.
