PRKG1 (cGMP-dependent protein kinase 1, also called PKG I) is a serine/threonine kinase that mediates nitric oxide and cGMP signaling in vascular smooth muscle, platelets, and selected neuronal populations. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against PRKG1 and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing a single reagent to cover the most commonly used mammalian model systems.

The product is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The glycerol content acts as a cryoprotectant against freeze-thaw damage and means working aliquots can be held at -20 °C without immediate loss of binding activity. The azide serves as a preservative to inhibit microbial growth in the stock solution during routine handling at the bench.

Because the target functions in smooth muscle relaxation, platelet aggregation, and memory-related cGMP signaling, this reagent supports studies of cardiovascular physiology, hypertension, thrombosis, and neuronal signaling where detection of endogenous PRKG1 is required rather than over-expressed tagged constructs. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of secondary reporter open, so the same primary antibody can be paired with HRP, fluorescent, or chromogenic detection systems depending on whether the work is on western blots or fixed tissue sections.
