PRKAR1B encodes the type I beta regulatory subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA), a central modulator of neuronal cAMP signaling, synaptic plasticity, and memory formation. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the PRKAR1B target and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry in human, mouse, and rat samples, with reactivity across these three species confirmed by the manufacturer.
The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum and supports research into PKA pathway dysregulation, including rare PRKAR1B-linked neurodegenerative disorders characterized by brain iron accumulation and progressive cognitive decline. For routine use, refrigerate the vial and aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles; working dilutions should be optimized empirically for each application. In IHC, the reagent performs on both fresh-frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, while in Western blot it is compatible with standard chemiluminescent and fluorescent detection chemistries.
