PRKAR1A (cAMP-dependent protein kinase type I-alpha regulatory subunit, RIα) is encoded at chromosomal locus 17q22-24 and serves as the principal regulatory subunit of protein kinase A. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl aliquot, validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows against human, mouse, and rat samples.

The target is best known as the gene mutated in Carney complex and primary pigmented nodular adrenocortical disease (PPNAD); loss-of-function alterations drive deregulated cAMP/PKA signaling in endocrine tumors, cardiac myxomas, and lentigines. Researchers therefore use this reagent to chart RIα expression and subcellular distribution across normal and transformed tissues, including adrenocortical, pituitary, thyroid, and gonadal specimens.

For handling, store the vial refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use and aliquot before freezing for longer-term stability, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Each preparation is a polyclonal reagent, so multiple epitopes on the PRKAR1A protein are recognized to support robust detection in WB, IHC, and IF experiments.
