This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets PRKAG2, the gene that encodes the gamma-2 regulatory subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). The gamma subunit harbors four tandem CBS (cystathionine beta-synthase) domains that bind AMP, ADP, and ATP, allowing the heterotrimeric kinase complex to sense cellular energy charge and tune glucose and fatty acid metabolism accordingly.

Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in 100 µl, the antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications on human samples. It is therefore suited to studies of cardiac and metabolic tissue where PRKAG2 expression and AMPK signaling are of interest, including investigations of glycogen storage cardiomyopathy, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy linked to gamma-2 subunit mutations.

Researchers working on AMPK subunit composition, nutrient-sensing pathways, or cardiac conduction biology can use this reagent to detect endogenous PRKAG2 protein in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections, supporting experiments that probe how changes in the gamma-2 regulatory subunit influence kinase activity and downstream metabolic control.
