Anti-Prealbumin Antibody [F28]

The F28 monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes human prealbumin, also known as transthyretin (TTR), a ~55 kDa homotetrameric plasma protein responsible for transporting thyroxine and vitamin A via its complex with retinol-binding protein.

Provided as an unconjugated liquid preparation in a 100 µg vial, this mouse IgG2b clone is validated for Western blot detection of prealbumin in human research samples. The reagent supports studies of nutritional status assessment, hepatic synthetic function, and amyloid disease mechanisms, including familial amyloid polyneuropathy and senile systemic amyloidosis, in which misfolded transthyretin variants form tissue-depositing fibrils.
