Raised in rabbit against a recombinant fusion protein spanning amino acids 1–100 of human PRDM5 (NP_061169.2), this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects endogenous PRDM5, a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor of the PR-domain family also known as BCS2 or PFM2. The 630-amino-acid target runs at approximately 73 kDa and localizes to the nucleus, where it regulates extracellular matrix genes such as COL4A1, COL11A1, and HAPLN1 through recruitment of EHMT2/G9A and HDAC1.

Recommended working dilutions are WB 1:500–1:2000, IHC 1:50–1:200, and IF 1:50–1:200, with reactivity confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated IgG format keeps the antibody compatible with a wide range of secondary-labeling strategies for western blot, immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded tissue, and immunofluorescence on fixed cells, including ocular tissues where PRDM5 expression in the corneal epithelium and retina has been mapped.

The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl liquid vial and should be stored at -20°C with freeze-thaw cycles avoided; aliquoting working volumes is recommended for multi-week experiments. Research applications include Brittle Cornea Syndrome (BCS2) connective tissue studies, osteoblast and skeletal ossification investigations, and tumor-suppressor pathway work in colorectal, gastric, breast, and liver cancer models where PRDM5 is frequently silenced. For laboratory research use only.
