Anti-PPAR-γ Antibody

Raised in rabbit and supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum in a single-use vial from Antibodies.com, this reagent targets peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), a ligand-activated nuclear receptor that governs adipocyte differentiation, lipid storage, and whole-body insulin sensitivity. Validated for Western blot detection of the ~57 kDa receptor in lysates of human, mouse, and rat origin, the antibody produces a clear band that resolves cleanly above background on standard PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes, and is also applicable in ELISA and immunohistochemistry workflows. In IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, nuclear staining is readily observed in adipocytes, intestinal epithelium, and macrophage-rich infiltrates, supporting studies of foam-cell biology, adipogenesis, and metabolic-disease tissue remodeling. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the receptor, increasing tolerance for minor denaturation differences between sample preparations, while the unconjugated state lets each laboratory pair it with HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor, or other labeled secondaries of its choice.
