Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α) is a ligand-activated nuclear transcription factor that governs fatty acid β-oxidation, peroxisomal biogenesis, ketogenesis, and broader lipid metabolism across hepatic, cardiac, and skeletal muscle tissues. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human target and has been validated for western blot, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows. Cross-reactivity with mouse and rat orthologs makes it well suited to comparative studies in rodent models of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, and other metabolic or cardiovascular research contexts. Supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a single-use vial, the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the protein, increasing tolerance to minor sequence variation between species. For best results, store frozen at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light during immunofluorescence handling. Each preparation is intended for research use only.
