This monoclonal antibody targets the C-terminal region of PPAR-γ (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma), a ligand-activated nuclear receptor that governs adipocyte differentiation, glucose and lipid homeostasis, and inflammatory gene programs. The reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody in a 100 µl vial format, validated for Western blot detection of the human receptor.

Immunoblotting with a C-terminal epitope provides selectivity that helps avoid cross-detection of the related PPAR-α and PPAR-β/δ isoforms, which share extensive homology across the DNA-binding and hinge domains. Investigators studying adipogenesis, metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, atherosclerosis, tumor cell differentiation, and macrophage polarization routinely probe lysates for endogenous PPAR-γ to confirm expression, track differentiation status, or compare treated versus untreated samples.

The product is provided as a purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer at pH 7.4 with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol for stable storage. Aliquoting upon arrival limits freeze-thaw cycles and preserves titer over months of use at -20°C. Standard Western blot loading of roughly 20–40 µg of total protein per lane is typical for visualizing the ~55 kDa receptor band in adipocyte, hepatic, or myeloid lineage samples, while milk-based blocking and standard HRP-conjugated secondary detection complete a straightforward chemiluminescent workflow.
