This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets the POU4F3 transcription factor, a POU-domain protein critical for the development and survival of cochlear and vestibular hair cells. Produced in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG at 100 µl volume, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) applications and demonstrates reactivity with both human and rat samples.

POU4F3 (also referenced as BRN3C) is a class IV POU transcription factor expressed in the inner ear sensory epithelium, the retina, and certain neuronal populations. Researchers studying auditory neuroscience use this antibody to investigate hair cell differentiation, ototoxic damage, and the molecular basis of DFNA15, an autosomal dominant form of progressive hearing loss linked to POU4F3 mutations. Cross-reactivity with both human and rat antigen supports comparative analyses of cochlear tissue, including studies of age-related and noise-induced sensorineural hearing loss.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on the POU4F3 protein, which can increase signal robustness in Western blot detection of endogenous target expression. Aliquot on arrival to limit repeated freeze-thaw exposure, and protect from light if extended storage is required. The unconjugated format leaves choice of detection chemistry open, allowing selection of HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary antibodies to suit the experimental design.
