PON1 (Paraoxonase 1) is a calcium-dependent enzyme synthesized primarily in the liver and tightly associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles in circulation. This unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and targets the human PON1 protein for detection in research workflows. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, packaged as a 100 µl vial suitable for multiple blotting and staining experiments.

Validated applications cover Western blot (WB) for protein-level analysis of PON1 expression in cell and tissue lysates, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for localization studies in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. Because the reagent reacts specifically with human PON1, it supports cardiovascular, metabolic, and toxicology research where the enzyme's antioxidant and organophosphate-detoxifying activities are of interest, including studies of HDL function, atherosclerosis, oxidative stress, and pesticide or xenobiotic exposure. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal reagents, which can be useful when probing full-length PON1 or detecting multiple isoforms and post-translational variants.

For handling, aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the working stock at -20 °C; the 50% glycerol component helps prevent ice crystal damage during frozen storage. The 0.1% sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative in the buffer. Centrifuge briefly before opening to recover the full volume, and avoid prolonged light exposure if downstream applications are light-sensitive.
