The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent targets POMGNT1, a type II transmembrane glycosyltransferase that localises to the Golgi apparatus and catalyses the transfer of N-acetylglucosamine onto O-linked mannose residues of alpha-dystroglycan. Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum, the unconjugated antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. POMGNT1 is of strong biomedical interest because loss-of-function variants cause dystroglycanopathies such as muscle-eye-brain disease and Walker-Warburg syndrome, and researchers studying congenital muscular dystrophies, neuronal migration defects, and basement-membrane glycosylation use this reagent to characterise protein expression in skeletal muscle, brain, and ocular tissues. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage, which is helpful when probing multiple isoforms or partially degraded samples, while the unconjugated status allows end users to pair it with a chosen secondary reagent for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection. Each aliquot should be handled to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across long-term storage.
