Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes POLR2K, the RNA Polymerase II subunit K that forms part of the core Pol II complex responsible for transcribing protein-coding genes. POLR2K is a small approximately 7 kDa subunit, also referenced in the literature as RPB12 and RPB10alpha, and is conserved across mammals, which makes a cross-species polyclonal reagent useful for comparative transcription studies. The antibody is supplied as an unconjugated IgG in a 200 µl vial and is validated for Western blot analysis of human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers apply it to whole-cell lysates or enriched nuclear extracts to probe Pol II subunit composition, expression levels, and incorporation into the preinitiation and elongation complexes. Upon receipt, aliquot the reagent to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20°C so that binding performance is preserved across multiple blotting experiments.
