Produced in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl aliquot, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets POLR2E, the fifth largest subunit of RNA Polymerase II also known as RPB5. RPB5 is shared across all three eukaryotic RNA polymerases (Pol I, II, and III), where it participates in transcription of protein-coding genes and small structural RNAs and contributes to promoter recognition at the polymerase assembly interface.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, the reagent supports protein-level detection in whole-cell lysates and localization studies in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. In Western blot, the antibody detects the approximately 25 kDa POLR2E band, and the polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the target across the cross-reactive human, mouse, and rat orthologs.

Store refrigerated upon receipt in the original vial; aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to preserve the unconjugated immunoglobulin fraction. The cross-species reactivity profile makes the antibody a practical reagent for comparative work on transcriptional regulation, RNA biogenesis, and polymerase subunit composition.
