POLR2E (RNA Polymerase II Subunit E, also called RPB5) is a shared subunit of the three eukaryotic nuclear RNA polymerases and is required for transcription of DNA into mRNA, rRNA, and tRNA. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the human POLR2E protein and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS, with 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant to limit loss of activity across routine freeze-thaw cycles. The mature POLR2E protein is approximately 25 kDa, and the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes, which can improve signal robustness on western membranes and in formalin-fixed tissue sections compared with monoclonal reagents that bind a single site.

Researchers commonly use this reagent to assess the integrity of the basal transcription machinery, to follow Pol II subunit expression during differentiation or stress, and as part of chromatin immunoprecipitation workflows studying transcription-coupled events. The cross-reactivity profile (Human, Mouse, Rat) makes it suitable for comparative studies across commonly used mammalian model systems.
