Anti-POLR1A Antibody

Produced in rabbit hosts, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against POLR1A, the largest catalytic subunit of RNA Polymerase I. The enzyme drives ribosomal RNA transcription in the nucleolus, making this reagent useful for probing ribosome biogenesis, nucleolar function, and RNA Pol I–dependent transcription studies in basic cell biology and oncology settings.

The antibody is supplied in a 100 µl vial as a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS buffer with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The glycerol cryoprotectant keeps the formulation liquid during storage at -20°C so it can be pipetted directly from the freezer without freeze-thaw cycling. It is unconjugated, allowing users to select their own detection labels or secondary antibodies.

Validation has been carried out for Western blot application, and the antibody recognizes POLR1A in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species comparative studies of Pol I activity.
