POLH (DNA Polymerase Eta) is a Y-family translesion polymerase best known for inserting nucleotides opposite UV-induced cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers in an error-free manner. Loss-of-function mutations in POLH cause the xeroderma pigmentosum variant (XPV) syndrome, a DNA-repair disorder that leaves affected individuals hypersensitive to sunlight and prone to skin carcinogenesis.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human POLH protein and recognizes endogenous polymerase eta in human, mouse, and rat samples. Validated uses include Western blot detection of the nuclear polymerase, immunohistochemistry on paraffin- and cryosections for tissue distribution studies, and immunofluorescence staining to follow recruitment of POLH to UV-irradiated nuclear foci.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent supports research into translesion synthesis, nucleotide excision repair crosstalk, and genotoxicity screening in cell culture and in vivo models.
