Podocalyxin (PODXL) is a heavily glycosylated CD34-family transmembrane sialoglycoprotein that acts as an anti-adhesion molecule on kidney podocytes, vascular endothelium, and hematopoietic progenitors, and is increasingly studied in tumor biology for its contributions to epithelial-mesenchymal transition, cell migration, and metastatic spread. This polyclonal Primary Antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in Rabbit, isotype IgG, supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated serum, and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

The reagent supports classical renal and vascular research, where PODXL marks the apical surface of glomerular podocytes and a subset of endothelial cells, and also serves cancer research labs investigating how altered PODXL expression drives motility and prognosis in carcinomas of the breast, prostate, colon, and lung. Because the antibody is supplied without an attached fluorophore or enzyme, the researcher chooses the matched secondary reagent and detection chemistry, which makes it equally suited to chromogenic Western blot membranes and multi-color IF imaging of fixed cells or tissue sections.
