PODN (podocan) is a small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycan expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells and kidney podocytes. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit hosts and is validated for Western blot applications across human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated IgG fraction is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, with 15 mM sodium azide added as a preservative, packaged in a 100 µl vial. Investigators studying extracellular matrix biology, glomerular disease models, and vascular remodeling pathways use this reagent to detect endogenous PODN expression in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. The polyclonal format yields recognition of multiple epitopes on the target protein, supporting reproducible band detection when paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies. For routine bench use, store refrigerated at 4 degrees C, protected from light; aliquot if extended storage is anticipated, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic procedures.
