Antibodies.com produces this rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against PNPLA2 (patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 2), the enzyme widely known as ATGL that catalyzes the initial, rate-limiting step of triglyceride hydrolysis on cytosolic lipid droplets. The antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and reacts with endogenous protein from human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling cross-species comparison in metabolic and musculoskeletal studies.

Each vial ships with 100 µL of liquid antibody at 1 mg/mL, supplied in PBS supplemented with 0.1% sodium azide as a microbial preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. Aliquot on first use and store at -20 °C to preserve binding activity through repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the unconjugated format leaves the reagent compatible with custom fluorescent or enzymatic labeling and with downstream affinity purification.

Investigators studying adipocyte lipolysis, hepatic steatosis, neutral lipid storage disease with myopathy (NLSDM), and whole-body energy homeostasis turn to anti-PNPLA2 polyclonal reagents to chart protein distribution in fixed tissue sections and to confirm expression in cell lysates by immunoblotting. Because the buffer contains sodium azide, avoid prolonged storage of working dilutions at 4 °C when the antibody is destined for amine-reactive conjugation chemistries that are sensitive to that preservative.
