Anti-PNPLA2 Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against PNPLA2 (adipose triglyceride lipase), the patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing enzyme that initiates triglyceride hydrolysis on cytoplasmic lipid droplets. The unconjugated reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as 200 µL of liquid polyclonal stock in a single-use vial, validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous ~55 kDa band across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Investigators in metabolic and exercise physiology use this reagent to track lipolytic flux in adipose, skeletal muscle, and hepatic lysates separated by SDS-PAGE and visualised with standard anti-rabbit secondary antibodies plus chemiluminescent substrates. Loss-of-function mutations in the PNPLA2 gene (Gene ID 57104) cause neutral lipid storage disease with myopathy, so reliable endogenous detection underpins studies of regulated lipid mobilisation, the ATGL–CGI-58 co-activation axis, and comparative expression analysis between wild-type and knockout model organisms.
