Pancreatic lipase (PNLIP) is the primary enzyme responsible for hydrolyzing dietary triglycerides into monoglycerides and free fatty acids in the small intestine, where it acts in concert with bile salts and its essential cofactor colipase. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against PNLIP and is validated for use in Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, with reactivity confirmed in mouse and rat samples.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizing agent, the antibody is packaged as a 100 µl aliquot that is convenient for repeated experimental runs. Researchers studying pancreatic exocrine function, lipid metabolism, dietary fat digestion physiology, and pancreatic acinar cell biology commonly use anti-PNLIP antibodies to localize enzyme expression in tissue sections and to detect the protein in cell or tissue lysates. Because the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, it can be advantageous when probing both the precursor and processed forms of the lipase in biological samples.
