Anti-PMP2 Antibody

This polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and specifically detects PMP2 (Peripheral Myelin Protein 2), a small cytoplasmic fatty acid-binding protein that is a structural component of peripheral nerve myelin and is expressed by Schwann cells. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot and is validated for western blot detection of mouse PMP2. Because PMP2 is implicated in inherited demyelinating neuropathies such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1, this reagent is commonly used to probe peripheral nerve lysates and Schwann cell cultures in studies of myelin biology, nerve injury response, and fatty-acid trafficking. Keep the vial refrigerated and aliquot upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect the solution from light until use.
