This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets pleckstrin (PLEK), a 47 kDa major substrate of protein kinase C that drives platelet activation, cytoskeletal reorganization, and leukocyte signalling. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, it is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human and mouse samples.

The antibody is provided in a 100 µl vial and is intended for research use only. Each lot is affinity-purified to support clean detection of endogenous PLEK in cell lysates and tissue sections. The buffer composition allows refrigerated short-term storage and longer-term aliquoting at -20°C to minimise freeze-thaw cycles. Sodium azide is incompatible with HRP-conjugated secondary reagents during certain conjugation protocols, so it should be removed by dialysis or gel filtration before amine-reactive coupling.

PLEK contains two N-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domains that bind phosphatidylinositol lipids, making this polyclonal reagent useful for studies of phosphoinositide signalling, platelet granule secretion, and innate immune cell migration. Researchers studying thrombus formation, megakaryocyte biology, or PKC-mediated cytoskeletal responses in human and murine systems can apply the antibody to whole-cell lysates for WB and to fixed paraffin or frozen sections for IHC.
