Raised in rabbit against phospholipase C beta 1, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets PLCB1, a phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase that hydrolyzes PIP2 to generate IP3 and diacylglycerol during G-protein coupled receptor signaling. Supplied as 100 µl at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide, pH 7.2, the reagent is for use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence and cross-reacts with PLCB1 of human, mouse, and rat origin.

PLCB1 is enriched in neural tissue and contributes to synaptic transmission, neuronal excitability, and cerebellar function, supporting studies of Gq/11-coupled receptor pathways, phosphoinositide turnover, and the molecular correlates of neurological conditions such as epilepsy. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target protein, which is useful when probing splice variants or post-translationally processed forms of PLCB1 across the three tested applications.

For handling, aliquot the antibody and store at 4 degrees C for short-term use, or freeze at -20 degrees C in working volumes to preserve activity over longer periods; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and minimize light exposure. Suggested starting dilutions for western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry are listed in the lot-specific datasheet that ships with each vial from Antibodies.com, along with example validation images.
