This phospho-specific rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes phospholipase C beta 1 (PLC β1) when phosphorylated at tyrosine 1253. PLC β1 is a key effector in G-protein-coupled receptor signaling cascades, where it hydrolyzes phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) to generate the second messengers inositol trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG). Tyrosine 1253 phosphorylation lies within a regulatory region of the enzyme and is commonly investigated in studies of neuronal signaling, Gq-coupled receptor activation, and downstream calcium mobilization. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) applications and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary antibodies of choice for fluorescence or enzymatic detection. For short-term use, refrigerate at 4 degrees C; for longer storage, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect the phospho-epitope from dephosphorylation. Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, sufficient for multiple blots or staining experiments when used at standard working dilutions.
