This mouse monoclonal IgG2b reagent from Antibodies.com targets Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored enzyme expressed on trophoblastic cells and widely used as a clinical marker for germ cell tumors, including seminomas and embryonal carcinomas. Supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume, it is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) on human samples.

The antibody recognizes the membrane-bound PLAP isoform normally restricted to placental syncytiotrophoblasts and primordial germ cells, supporting research into trophoblastic differentiation, gestational trophoblastic disease, and testicular germ cell neoplasia. Its IgG2b isotype allows detection with standard anti-mouse secondary reagents in chromogenic or fluorescent ICC protocols, while the unconjugated format enables flexible pairing with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore labels. For Western blot applications, it binds denatured PLAP protein in human cell and tissue lysates.

For storage, the antibody should be aliquoted upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and kept at -20 °C for long-term preservation of activity across repeated experiments.
