PLA2G2D (Phospholipase A2 Group IID) is a member of the secreted phospholipase A2 family, enzymes that cleave the sn-2 acyl ester bond of glycerophospholipids to release free fatty acids such as arachidonic acid together with lysophospholipids. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human PLA2G2D protein and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications.

The antibody is provided at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, shipped as a 100 µL volume. Because the polyclonal host response targets multiple epitopes on PLA2G2D, the reagent can recognize the protein even when sample preparation yields partial denaturation, supporting reproducible detection across varied lysate and tissue inputs.

PLA2G2D has been studied in the context of adipocyte lipid handling, eicosanoid pathway signaling, and altered expression in malignancies such as pancreatic adenocarcinoma, where it has emerged as a candidate biomarker. Investigators mapping tissue distribution of secreted group IID phospholipases, profiling inflammatory lipid mediators, or characterizing the human PLA2G2D protein in WB and IHC workflows will find this reagent applicable to those experimental designs.
