Group X secretory phospholipase A2 (PLA2G10) is a calcium-dependent lipolytic enzyme that cleaves the sn-2 acyl bond of glycerophospholipids, liberating free fatty acids such as arachidonic acid and lysophospholipids for downstream eicosanoid biosynthesis. The unconjugated polyclonal reagent raised against this target is supplied by Antibodies.com in a 200 µl vial as a rabbit IgG preparation validated for Western blot detection of human PLA2G10. Group X sPLA2 has drawn research interest because of its potent capacity to drive lipid mediator release, with reported involvement in intestinal inflammation, colorectal and gastric tumor biology, atherosclerotic plaque development, and the sperm acrosome reaction. Researchers working on lipid signaling, mucosal immunity, or cancer-associated inflammation use this reagent to compare endogenous PLA2G10 levels across patient samples, gene knockout models, and stimulated cell lines. The unconjugated format allows users to pair the primary antibody with their preferred secondary detection system for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot workflows, and the single-use vial format is intended for research use only.
