PKR (Protein Kinase R, also known as EIF2AK2) is a double-stranded RNA-activated serine/threonine kinase whose phosphorylation at threonine 446 within the activation loop is required for full catalytic activity. Antibodies.com offers a rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically recognizes this phospho-T446 epitope.

Provided as an unconjugated reagent in 50 µl format, the antibody is supplied in 1x TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide. It is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples.

Phospho-T446 detection supports research into interferon-driven antiviral responses, viral replication mechanisms, translational control through eIF2alpha phosphorylation, apoptosis pathways, and cellular stress. The recombinant rabbit monoclonal format delivers lot-to-lot consistency for phosphorylation-state studies.

Storage recommendation: keep at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light. Researchers studying dsRNA-triggered innate immunity, viral pathogenesis, and inflammatory or tumor microenvironments where PKR activation has been implicated will find this reagent useful.
