Anti-PKLR Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets PKLR (Pyruvate Kinase, Liver and Red Blood Cell), a glycolytic enzyme encoded by the PKLR gene that catalyzes the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate to pyruvate in the final step of glycolysis. Alternative promoters drive tissue-specific expression of the L isoform in hepatocytes and the R isoform in erythroid precursors, making PKLR a relevant marker in studies of red blood cell energy metabolism, hepatic gluconeogenesis, and the hereditary non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia linked to pyruvate kinase deficiency.

Provided as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. Polyclonal reactivity across multiple epitopes supports detection of both major isoforms, and the unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chromogenic or immunofluorescence readouts.
