Manufactured by Antibodies.com as part of their primary antibody catalogue, this reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against protein kinase D (PKD), also known as PKCµ (Protein kinase C mu type) or PRKD1, and it specifically recognises a non-phosphorylated epitope centred around residues 736–740 (E-K-S-F-R) of the human protein. The unconjugated preparation is supplied at1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µl vial, formulated in phosphate-buffered saline at pH 7.4 (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Polyclonal antibodies are generated in rabbits immunised with a synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH and subsequently purified by affinity chromatography using the epitope-specific peptide, giving the reagent the ability to detect endogenous levels of total PKD/PKCµ protein. It is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) applications and has been shown to react with human, mouse and rat samples. For handling, the antibody is shipped at 4 °C; on receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided. Listed at 1,365 SAR for the 50 µl pack, the product is intended strictly for research use and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
