This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the catalytic (C) subunits of cAMP-dependent protein kinase, the alpha and beta isoforms encoded by PRKACA and PRKACB. Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume, the reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

PKA catalytic subunits are serine/threonine kinases that mediate most of the cellular effects of cAMP second-messenger signaling. They phosphorylate a wide range of substrates, including CREB, glycogen phosphorylase, and hormone-sensitive lipase, and are central to research on G protein-coupled receptor signaling, glucagon and adrenaline action, neuronal plasticity, and several cancer contexts in which PRKACA copy number or activity is altered.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody binds multiple epitopes on PKA catalytic subunits, which can help detect the target where a single monoclonal might miss it because of post-translational modification or species variation between human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format gives researchers the flexibility to conjugate the antibody to their preferred fluorophore, biotin, or HRP in-house for the detection method of their choice, whether chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent.
