Anti-PIWIL4 Antibody

The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes PIWIL4 (also known as HIWI2), a member of the conserved Argonaute/PIWI protein family that mediates piRNA-guided transposon silencing and germline maintenance. Supplied as 100µl at 1mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated reagent is ready for direct labeling or use in established immunodetection workflows.

Validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF), the antibody cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. PIWIL4 plays a central role in spermatogenesis and retrotransposon repression during germ cell development, and has emerged as a marker of interest in studies of colorectal, gastric, and breast cancer, where altered expression has been linked to proliferation and self-renewal pathways.

For routine use, store aliquots at -20°C in single-use fractions to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. The glycerol-containing buffer preserves activity for immunostaining of fixed or frozen tissue sections and for blotting of cell lysates prepared under standard lysis conditions.
