PIWIL2 (Piwilike RNA-mediated gene silencing 2), also known as HILI in humans, is a member of the Argonaute PIWI subfamily that binds piwi-interacting RNAs and mediates transposon silencing during germline development. Beyond its canonical role in spermatogenesis, PIWIL2 is expressed in hematopoietic stem cells and a range of somatic tissues, and ectopic or aberrant expression has been documented in several tumor types, making it a target of interest in cancer biology and stem cell research.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against human PIWIL2 and supplied as an unconjugated reagent at 100 µl per vial, intended for use in western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples. Polyclonal reactivity can help when recognition of multiple epitopes is needed for detection of full-length PIWIL2 or its isoforms, which is useful when probing tissue sections for cell-type-specific expression patterns. The unconjugated format allows laboratories to conjugate the antibody to their preferred reporter (HRP, biotin, or fluorophores) according to their established detection chemistry.
