Anti-PIWIL1 Antibody

This unconjugated polyclonal antibody targets PIWIL1, a member of the Argonaute PIWI protein family that contributes to piRNA-guided transposon silencing and germline maintenance. Produced in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial of IgG, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows and shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. PIWIL1, also referred to as HIWI in human cells, is broadly studied in the contexts of spermatogenesis, stem cell self-renewal, and cancer biology, where altered expression has been reported in gastric, colorectal, and several other tumour types. The antibody is supplied as a liquid preparation and should be handled according to standard immunoreagent practice: store refrigerated, and for longitudinal studies keep frozen in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. In Western blot, the reagent is used to detect endogenous PIWIL1 in whole-cell lysates, and in immunofluorescence it is applied to fixed cells to visualise the predominantly cytoplasmic localisation associated with piRNA pathway activity in spermatocytes and other PIWI-expressing cell types.
