PIP4K2A is a lipid kinase that phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 5-phosphate at the D4 position to generate PI(4,5)P2 at cellular membranes, making the protein a useful marker in studies of phosphoinositide turnover, mTORC1 signaling, autophagy regulation, and cellular stress responses. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase type II alpha and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera in a single vial for research use only.

Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, the antibody binds the endogenous kinase and recognizes a band migrating at its expected molecular weight near 46 kDa in whole-cell lysates from human cell lines. As an unconjugated polyclonal, it provides broader epitope coverage than a monoclonal and leaves the format open for downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates chosen by the user. The reagent performs well in standard chromogenic IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections and in immunoblotting workflows that probe low-abundance pools of the kinase under nutrient stress or during pharmacological manipulation of the PI3K pathway.

Researchers investigating phosphoinositide biology, prostate and breast cancer models, or metabolic signaling can pair this antibody with companion readouts such as phospho-S6K1 or LC3 immunoblots to place PIP4K2A activity in the context of mTORC1-driven translation and autophagy flux. Aliquot upon first thaw and refrigerate between uses to preserve titer across long-running studies.
