This rabbit monoclonal IgG antibody targets PIK3R2, the p85β regulatory subunit of class IA phosphoinositide 3-kinase. PIK3R2 partners with the p110 catalytic subunit to form the active PI3K heterodimer, a central node in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling axis governing cell growth, proliferation, survival, and insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. The unconjugated reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µL volume and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows across human and rat samples.

Because p85β modulates PI3K activity in both metabolic and proliferative contexts, this reagent is widely used to probe receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, insulin pathway dysregulation relevant to type 2 diabetes research, and aberrant PI3K activity in cancer cell lines and tumor xenograft models. Researchers employ it in co-immunoprecipitation experiments to map the p85β–p110 interaction interface, in IF staining to localize PIK3R2 to membrane and cytoplasmic compartments following growth factor stimulation, and in WB to detect the characteristic 85 kDa band across whole-cell lysates. The IgG isotype supports straightforward secondary antibody selection, and the unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin reporters depending on the application.
