PHYH (Phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase) is a peroxisomal enzyme essential for the alpha-oxidation of phytanic acid, a branched-chain fatty acid derived from dietary chlorophyll. Loss-of-function variants in the PHYH gene cause Refsum disease, an inherited metabolic disorder characterized by phytanic acid accumulation, peripheral neuropathy, retinitis pigmentosa, and cerebellar ataxia.
This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human and mouse PHYH and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. The unconjugated format provides flexibility with custom secondary antibody labeling, including fluorescent, chromogenic, or HRP-based detection. The reagent ships as a 100 µl aliquot that can be applied across multiple immunoblot and tissue-staining experiments. Researchers studying peroxisomal metabolism, branched-chain lipid handling, and inherited metabolic disease can use this reagent to evaluate PHYH expression in cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and relevant disease model systems.
