Anti-PHYH Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets phytanoyl-CoA hydroxylase (PHYH), the peroxisomal enzyme that catalyzes the first step of alpha-oxidation of 3-methyl-branched fatty acids such as phytanic acid. Loss-of-function mutations in PHYH are the most common cause of adult Refsum disease, an inherited peroxisomal disorder characterized by phytanic acid accumulation, peripheral neuropathy, retinitis pigmentosa, and anosmia, making reliable anti-PHYH reagents valuable for studies of peroxisomal metabolism and inherited metabolic disease research.

Raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. Each vial contains 100 µl of ready-to-use reagent, intended for probing PHYH expression across cultured cells, tissue sections, and whole-cell lysates in basic and translational research settings.
