Phosphorylase kinase regulatory subunit alpha 1 (PHKA1) is the muscle-enriched alpha regulatory subunit of phosphorylase kinase, the enzyme that phosphorylates and activates glycogen phosphorylase to liberate stored glycogen during muscle contraction. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes human PHKA1 and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, allowing researchers to follow expression and subcellular localization in skeletal muscle biopsy specimens and relevant cell culture preparations. The reagent is supplied at 100 µL per vial as a polyclonal antiserum raised in a rabbit host, and is intended for research use only in studies of glycogen metabolism regulation, glycogen storage disease type IX, and downstream metabolic signalling pathways in striated muscle tissue.
