Description

Rabbit monoclonal antibody raised against PHD1, available from Antibodies.com as an unconjugated recombinant reagent. The antibody detects endogenous levels of PHD1 and does not cross-react with related proteins. Validated applications include Western blot (WB), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and flow cytometry (FC), with reactivity confirmed against Human, Mouse and Rat samples. The product is supplied in TBS (pH7.4) containing 1% BSA, 40% glycerol and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative, and is Protein A affinity purified; the target migrates at approximately 44 kDa.

PHD1 (also known as HIF PHD1) is a member of the prolyl hydroxylase domain protein family that catalyses the post-translational formation of 4-hydroxyproline in HIF-α subunits. As a cellular oxygen sensor important in oxygen homeostasis and cell growth regulation, PHD1 is widely expressed, with highest levels in testis, and is also detected in hormone-responsive tissues including normal and cancerous mammary, ovarian and prostate epithelium. The protein can localise to the nucleus or cytoplasm and is encoded by EGLN2, which maps to chromosome 19q13.3.
