Anti-PHC1 Antibody

PHC1 (Polyhomeotic Homolog 1) is a core subunit of Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1), the chromatin-associated complex that monoubiquitinates histone H2A at Lys119 and sustains long-term transcriptional silencing of Polycomb target genes. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against a region of human PHC1 and recognizes the corresponding protein in Mouse and Rat as well. The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged in a vial and intended for storage at -20 °C; the high glycerol content limits freeze-thaw damage to the IgG fraction. Validation is reported in Western Blot applications, where it labels the ~97-110 kDa PHC1 band in whole-cell extracts. Typical studies use this reagent to investigate PRC1-mediated gene repression, Hox cluster regulation, X-chromosome inactivation, stem cell self-renewal, and Polycomb group dysregulation in hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
