PHB (prohibitin) is an evolutionarily conserved ~30 kDa protein anchored in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it assembles with PHB2 to form a ring-like chaperone complex that stabilizes newly translated respiratory chain subunits. Beyond this mitochondrial role, PHB shuttles to the nucleus and the plasma membrane, contributing to E2F-mediated transcription, estrogen receptor signaling, lipid raft organization, mitophagy, oxidative stress responses, and tumor cell survival in published studies. The Antibodies.com Anti-PHB reagent is a rabbit monoclonal antibody supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows using human, mouse, and rat samples. Immunogen reactivity was raised against the full-length human prohibitin, allowing detection of the endogenous protein in whole-cell lysates, mitochondrial fractions, and fixed tissue sections. Each vial is shipped refrigerated on wet or blue ice and should be stored at 4 °C for short-term use; for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. For research use only.
