PGK2 (Phosphoglycerate Kinase 2) is a testis-restricted glycolytic isozyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, generating ATP during late spermatogenesis. Derived from an autosomal retrotransposed copy of PGK1, PGK2 is expressed primarily in pachytene spermatocytes and post-meiotic germ cells, where it supports the energy demands of sperm motility and male fertility.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets PGK2 and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse tissue. The antibody is supplied at 100 µl volume, suitable for immunoblotting of testis lysates, IHC staining of fixed reproductive sections, and characterization of germ-cell development models in research settings.

For handling, the vial should be refrigerated upon arrival and stored frozen in working aliquots to preserve reactivity across multiple experiments. Investigators working on spermatogenesis, germ-line gene regulation, retrotransposed isozymes, or sperm energy metabolism will find this reagent useful for tracking PGK2 expression patterns.
