This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets Profilin-1 (PFN1), a small ~15 kDa actin-binding protein that regulates actin polymerization and cytoskeletal dynamics in eukaryotic cells. Raised in rabbit and purified at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is supplied as a 100 µl vial of unconjugated polyclonal IgG, validated in Western blot and immunohistochemistry.

PFN1 functions in actin monomer sequestration, membrane trafficking, and signal transduction pathways that govern cell motility. Missense mutations in the PFN1 gene cause a familial form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis known as ALS8, so this reagent supports studies in neurodegeneration, cytoskeletal remodeling, and tumor cell migration. The antibody cross-reacts with PFN1 from human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing comparative work across species and tissues.

Because the formulation already contains 50% glycerol, the stock remains liquid at low temperatures and resists freezing. Aliquot upon receipt to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20°C for long-term stability. The reagent is intended for research use only.
